“Ku i ka Mäna” – Said of a child who behaves like those who reared him. Mäna is food masticated by an elder and conveyed to the mouth of a small child. The haumäna (pupil) receives knowledge from the mouth of his teacher. -’Olelo No’eau 1875 Mary Kawena Pukui
The Hawaiian Lomilomi Associations sends an “E Komo Mai” to past and present members. A rare opportunity to bring a haumäna whom you are mentoring or who is interested in the Native Hawaiian Healing Arts. This haumäna will be your kuleana (responsibility). Two days of talk story, cultural games and activities, kanikapila, and hula with Na Kupuna and Na Kumu Lomilomi from Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Big Island and the Continental U.S. To be announced at a later date.
